A look on the ocean pollution, at the heart of the Expedition Protect Ocean project

The ocean represents 70% of the Earth’s surface and allows all of us to live : it absorbs 90% of the heat generated  by C02 emissions.

However, not many people are actively protecting this essential element for human survival. This is why Dominique has chosen to combine preventive measures with a sport achievement : he aims to raise awareness about the impact individuals, particularly future generations, have on the environment.

According to the French government, “marine debris affects marine biodiversity and has repercussions on offshore  and onshore activities (fishing, maritime activities, tourism, …)”. Ocean pollution may be challenging to comprehend, but it is a real and escalating issue over time. Dominique, in collaboration with Activ’Travaux (official partner of Expedition Protect Ocean) will enable his community to observe ocean debris through the ‘Photo of the day” :

Every day, Dominique will share a picture of his Atlantic crossing

He will capture everything from a plastic bag on the water’s surface to a friendly dolphin the  reflection of oil in the water. This provides us with an opportunity to witness, alongside Dominique, the current state of the Atlantic Ocean.
