Dominique has been preparing for his departure for over a year. Even though he will be physically alone on the D-day, such a project is a team effort.
A total of 6 individuals have been surrounding him every day since the launch, not to mention the unwavering moral support from his family and friends.
Here’s a brief introduction to these individuals:
Laurence (sophrologist and hypnotherapist), a person as athletic as Dominique, assisting him in his mental preparation (stress management, sleep, emotions, etc.) through yoga, hypnosis, sophrology, relaxation, and meditation classes.
Xavier, the predecessor. He will share his personal experience (having completed a rowing crossing in 2017) with Dominique to provide the best advice for a successful journey between 50 and 100 days! A very valuable advisor/companion!
Grégory, the pure and tough sports aspect. Objective #1: physically prepare Dominique for the Atlantic crossing (muscle strengthening, cardiovascular work, and other elements of his training plan to face the 5000 kilometers in 3 months that separate the Canary Islands from Martinique). A strong body allows for a strong mindset!
“Do not limit your challenges, challenge your limits.”
Pascale, the Shiatsu master. This is a Japanese discipline for relaxation on physical, mental, and emotional levels (inspired by traditional Chinese medicine) and meaning “finger pressure.” Objectives: reduce stress, release tension, help recover from nervous and muscular fatigue, improve muscle and tendon flexibility, and rebalance and strengthen the overall body energy.
Michel, the guide. On land, Michel will guide Dominique like a GPS during his crossing, particularly keeping an eye on the meteorological aspect.
The Rennes School of Sports team (from the MediaSchool Rennes group) handles the communication part. Eleven Master’s students have been enlisted to manage the communication aspect of the project. They take care of updating the website, creating accounts on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter – links provided at the bottom of the article), press releases, and designs for visuals – all to ensure the best promotion of the event!
This is what the team, as loyal as it is strong, looks like!
